About Chris

Chris De Melo is a resident of ward 3. He moved to Hamilton via Mississauga with his fiance then/wife now Jessica in 2020.

Chris is a school board worker as a Custodian and Maintenance Worker in the Peel District School Board and a life long union activist. He has served at both a local capacity (CUPE 2544) and provincial capacity (OSBCU) and has found that he loves serving the common people. Its the only thing that has ever really just made sense to beside marrying the love of his life Jessica and having their two children.

Chris is seeking election for Ward 3 because he loves this city, every blemish, every hole in the wall restaurant, the way neighbours help each other. Hamilton’s home is not just a cute t shirt he owns. It is in fact the truth. He wants to help the common people and make the lives better of people that he will never meet.

My Vision

My vision is simple: a city that gets the basics right.

That means better roads, safer neighbourhoods, stronger housing standards, and a City Hall that listens to residents and follows through.

Ward 3 deserves practical solutions, not excuses. When roads are repaired, the work should be planned properly so we are not tearing up the same streets again and again. When people raise concerns about rental housing, safety, or neighbourhood conditions, they should be taken seriously.

We also need a compassionate but realistic approach to homelessness. People need support, services need to work together, and public safety cannot be ignored.

This is about respect — for taxpayers, tenants, homeowners, workers, families, and everyone trying to build a life in Hamilton.

Ward 3 works hard. City Hall should work hard for Ward 3.
